On 24.06.2008, KLUB WŁODKOWICA 21 (ul. Włodkowica 21) hosted the festival NowoBrzmienia (see our previous post). In our interview, the organizer Maciek Zakrzewski from Wrocławski Klub FORMATY explains the idea of the festival and introduces the bands featured in this event. Wrocławski Klub FORMATY organizes NowoBrzmienia Festival (New Sound Festival) to promote ambitious music based on electronics and styles such as trip-hop, lounge, avant pop and jazz. Feat. Stealpot (Down-tempo/Jazz/Electronica), Fat Burning Step (Dub Step), Zgas, human beatbox (Hip Hop/A’cappella/Rap), Sinusoidal (Electronica/Hip Hop/Psychedelic).

C.Q.F.D (la Culture Qui Fait Discuter) is a series of Francophone round-table discussion organized by Arka Theatre. The June edition invites Toyotaka Ota, video artist and also the founder and the chief editor of WroclawWeekly.pl. He will present WroclawWeekly and its original video publication and also other video works he produced for Polish music groups such as Digit-All-love and L.U.C.
Discussion will be conducted in French & Polish.

In May 2008, Shakespeare Wrocław performed “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in the courtyard of Club Pracoffnia (ul. Więzienna 6). Shakespeare Wrocław is an amateur/student theatre group led by the director John White, and they perform each year one Shakespearean play in the original English dialogue (Read more about Shakespeare Wrocław and their performance here). After one of their performance, we interviewed the group and asked them about the choice of this year’s play and the challenge they encountered during the preparation.
